has been named president of the board of directors for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lancaster County.
Scott is a partner with Barley Snyder and practices in its Finance and Creditors' Rights and Intellectual Property groups. In his creditors’ rights practice he advises lenders and other creditors in loan and credit recoveries involving millions of dollars. In his IP practice he counsels business, institutional and individual clients on the acquisition, prosecution, use, protection, and enforcement of trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights and other intellectual and proprietary assets.
CASA’s mission is to provide a qualified and compassionate court-appointed volunteer advocate to every child who is abused and neglected, to ensure the fundamental human right of having a safe, nurturing, and permanent home is met. CASA’s board members are charged with fiscal oversight and ensuring adequate resources, ensuring legal and ethical integrity, oversight of the Executive Director, strengthening of programs through active participation in planning and enhancing CASA's public standing.
