For Immediate Release

Hanover, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that Daniel M. Frey has been elected to the board of directors of Main Street Hanover Inc. and has been named the board’s vice chairman.

Frey is of counsel in the firm’s Hanover office. He already had been a member of Main Street Hanover’s strategic planning committee.

Main Street Hanover is a collaborative effort between partners dedicated to the mission to expand the economic capacity of downtown Hanover, thus improving the business environment, enhancing the quality of place and increasing community synergy, according to its website. Launched in 2013, Main Street Hanover is a collaborative effort between Hanover Borough, Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce, Partnership for Economic Development of York County and York County Economic Alliance.

The organization is shifting this year to a 501(c)3 nonprofit group in 2018. This is the first board of directors the group has elected.

“It’s an exciting time for Main Street Hanover and for the entire borough,” Frey said. “As a nonprofit, Main Street Hanover will be eligible for different grants, be able to receive donations more efficiently and expand what we do as an organization. I’m very proud to be able to take this leadership position that will help shape the future of the downtown and the borough.”

Frey is a former assistant district attorney in York County and a former past president of the board of directors of the York County Bar Association. He is active in other community groups in Hanover, including a 2017 election to the board of directors of the Hanover Public Library Association Inc. He is also a past president of the board of directors of the Hanover Area YMCA and currently is serving on the board of trustees for the Hanover Area YMCA.

Frey practices in Barley Snyder’s Business, Finance & Creditors’ Rights, Personal Planning and Real Estate practice groups, as well as the Municipal & Municipal Authority and Food & Agribusiness industry groups. He was managing partner of the Barley Snyder from 2003 to 2008.
