This webinar titled "A View from the Bench: Practical Advice for Bankers on Pennsylvania and Federal Bankruptcy Litigation" was presented on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 as part of Barley Snyder's LendiCon Virtual Event Series.


This session featured a panel comprised of two former judges who discussed federal bankruptcy and Pennsylvania court issues applicable to bankers. The panelists provided practical advice for bankers called to court as witnesses, addressing key topics such as effective testimony, documentation, hearsay objections and exceptions thereto, and negotiating settlements. The panelists also offered “do’s and don’ts” in the courtroom, including actual examples and explained key differences between practice in Pennsylvania courts and federal courts. The panel discussion was moderated by partners and members of Barley Snyder's Litigation and Finance & Creditors' Rights practice groups, Stephanie DiVittore and Shawn Long, and featured the following panelists:

- Hon. Richard Fehling, Retired Judge for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
- Hon. Stephen Linebaugh, Retired judge for York County Court of Common Pleas & Chair of Barley Snyder's Alternative Dispute Resolution Service Team
