Barley Snyder Attorney Kim Smith Named to Seminary Board

Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is proud to announce its attorney Kim R. Smith has been elected to the Lancaster Theological Seminary Board of Trustees.

Smith is an of counsel attorney at Barley Snyder and a member of the firm’s Education and Employment practice groups. She served as the chair of the Education Practice Group until the spring of 2017.

“Lancaster Theological Seminary has a rich history and is recognized as a vibrant, diverse learning community,” Smith said. “I am honored to serve on the board of an institution that educates leaders to serve the church and society, and which engages on issues of importance to communities here and around the world.”

Lancaster Theological Seminary, a graduate school associated with the United Church of Christ, welcomes students from a wide variety of Christian traditions. Its president, the Rev. Carol E. Lytch, welcomed Smith’s service.

“As both an education law attorney and a former educator, Kim Smith brings to our board extensive experience and insight in understanding and serving educational institutions,” she said.

Smith is involved at numerous organizations throughout Lancaster County. She is on the board of trustees for Lancaster General Health and Lancaster General Hospital and serves on the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute Development Committee.
