For Immediate Release
Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder partner William J. Zee has been invited to participate in the Commonwealth Education Blueprint project, a multiyear effort founded and managed by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association to develop specific recommendations for public education in Pennsylvania through 2038.
The Commonwealth Education Blueprint project is a collaborative effort of select organizations and individuals to develop a plan and implement a statewide vision for the future of public education in Pennsylvania. The organization began work on the project in 2017, and last summer released its Phase I report.
Project officials selected Zee to join Phase II of the project based on his experience related to student issues and as a school solicitor.
Phase II will focus on identifying obstacles school entities face in reaching the vision of Phase I. The second phase also will focus on developing specific recommendations for school entities, legislators and others to work together to foster equitable and exceptional public education in Pennsylvania.
“I am excited to work with the talented and knowledgeable group of professionals the steering committee has assembled,” Zee said. “I look forward to contributing to the refinement of a clear and comprehensive statewide vision that will ensure Pennsylvania provides an increasingly excellent public education experience for all children.”
A former teacher and education administrator, Zee is a partner at Barley Snyder and chair of the firm’s Education Practice Group. He is on the board of directors for Leadership Lancaster, the Lancaster Education Foundation and Aaron’s Acres.
