Barley Snyder’s Matthew Hennesy Completes Leadership Training Program

Lancaster, PA – Matthew Hennesy recently completed Leadership Lancaster’s “The Core Class” program. He is one of 60 program participants who graduated in a ceremony held on May 19 at the Southern Market Center. This year’s class represents a wide variety of businesses, nonprofit organizations and institutions throughout Lancaster County.

Hennesy is an associate in the firm’s litigation group, where he counsels clients on commercial, intellectual property and construction litigation. He received his B.A. from Widener University, and his J.D. the University of Miami School of Law where he was an Associate Editor of the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review.

Hennesy shows his dedication to the Lancaster community by serving on the board for Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation and on the quality assurance committee for the SouthEast Lancaster Health Services.

Leadership Lancaster challenges participants from diverse backgrounds to assume effective, more active volunteer roles in addressing community needs.

The Core Class program runs September through May and the topics covered include: public education, public policy, economic development, law & justice, arts community, health and human services and a county tour. Skills covered include: consensus and coalition building, inclusion, negotiation, collaboration and team building, trusteeship, visioning, conflict mediation and resolution, facilitation, personal evaluation, and problem solving and decision making.
