Brian is an associate in the firm’s Business and Real Estate practice groups, with the bulk of his practice dedicated to implementing key strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, buying or selling business lines and succession planning. Brian thrives in helping clients build a portfolio of companies and represents highly profitable business clients across a diverse range of industries and sectors. With emphasis in the lower-middle market, Brian guides companies and firms realizing revenues between $5 million to $100 million. Whether your next strategic move is an accretive acquisition, a corporate restructure, an expansion to your real estate portfolio, succession planning, exit strategies or selling off key assets or business lines, Brian has experience turning his clients’ strategic ideas into action while remaining keenly focused on delivering results, client service and responsiveness.

Brian often fills the role of corporate outside counsel for businesses both large and small, with an emphasis on family businesses and closely held companies. Businesses often call Brian their trusted advisor and seek his counsel with:

  • Mergers and acquisitions (buying and selling businesses)
  • Succession planning
  • Exit strategy
  • Shareholder relations
  • Entity selection, organization and structuring
  • Buying, selling and leasing commercial real estate
  • Contract negotiation
  • Corporate planning
  • Recapitalization
  • Day-to-day legal matters

A key portion of Brian’s practice includes commercial real estate. Brian’s transactional experience in real estate acquisition, development and divestiture serves as a benefit to his clients especially those who are looking at strategic expansion into new markets, lease negotiations or the purchase or sale of land or buildings.

Brian realizes the economic importance of start-up and emerging companies, which drives his commitment to advising entrepreneurs as they steer their community’s future commercial growth benefiting all businesses and community stakeholders. He works directly with start-up founders and executives with the same dedication and vigor he provides to a century-old company, helping with their unique legal needs such as entity formation, operating and shareholder agreements, governance structure, business plan mapping, raising capital and intellectual property issues.

A Lancaster native, Brian sits on prestigious community service boards in his hometown that help shape the future development of the city. Brian and his wife Avery are big proponents for urban living, own a home in historic downtown Lancaster and also have a passion for real estate investing. All of that combines their love to invest their time and efforts in their community.
