York, Pa. – Two Barley Snyder litigators were part of a panel presentation with York County judges that delved into a particularly complex aspect of dealing with local courts.

Partner Paul Minnich and associate Justin Tomevi were part of the panel on “Civil Motions Court and Local Rules Compliance” with York County judges Richard K. Renn and Clyde W. Vedder. The presentation concentrated on areas of procedure in York County Court that differ from other counties across the state and country.

“York County’s civil motions process is often misunderstood by practitioners across the state and even in our own county,” Minnich said. “However, if you take time to understand the reason behind the rules, lawyers will appreciate that those rules are in place to make litigation more efficient for not only the court, but the lawyers and their clients.”

The panel was part of the York County Bar Association’s Bench Bar Conference held at Skytop Lodge in the Poconos on Oct. 27.

“It’s something a young lawyer or a veteran one could struggle with,” Tomevi said. “Everyone benefits from an efficient court system. The more people know about certain aspects of the York County system, the better it will be for everyone that steps through the courthouse doors.”
