Neil’s path to Barley Snyder isn’t a traditional one, but the varied career opportunities he’s enjoyed has already given him a strong background in the business world. After graduating from Ursinus College, Neil spent three years in business development with a startup biotech company while also pursuing his M.B.A. at Saint Joseph’s University. After the structured sale of the biotech firm, Neil began his career as a financial planner in 2005. During his tenure in financial services, Neil was directly responsible for the management and development of numerous advisers, in addition to developing and managing his own financial services practice. Within his personal practice, Neil focused primarily on retirement planning services for closely held businesses. Throughout this time, Neil transitioned from the agency sales director of a financial services office in the Philadelphia area to the managing director of a similarly situated practice in the Detroit area.
As a result of his desire to return to Pennsylvania and practice law, Neil sold his financial services business and enrolled at Villanova University School of Law. Throughout his law school career, Neil served as an intern for the Securities and Exchange Commission, and later as a summer associate with a prominent national law firm headquartered in Philadelphia. Although Philadelphia was his home for a number of years, Neil has very strong personal and professional ties to the Lancaster area and has been traveling to Lancaster for more than 20 years. He and his wife love the sense of community, the excellent school systems, the history and culture of Lancaster County and decided this is where they would like to raise their family.
