For Immediate Release

Reading, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that attorney EmmaRose Boyle has been named to the leadership team of an important Pennsylvania agricultural committee that will help shape and direct the future of the industrial hemp market.

Boyle is part of a nine-person leadership team of the PA Industrial Hemp Steering Committee, which was formed through cooperation between the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and Team PA Foundation. The committee is an advisory body to the department and to the industry in Pennsylvania, and is a group of hemp stakeholders and experts that provide guidance on hemp in the state, across the country and around the world.

Boyle is co-chair of the steering committee’s policy and regulation subcommittee. In her law practice, she has been counseling clients in the booming hemp-growing industry to track and navigate its emerging laws and regulations, including compliance and risk management. She has written often about the hemp industry, and in 2019, she was a panelist at the Pennsylvania Hemp Summit.

“With the right direction, hemp is going to be an important crop in Pennsylvania for the next decade,” Boyle said. “I’m excited to be part of this group that will guide the future of Pennsylvania’s hemp industry.”

Boyle is a member of the Barley Snyder Food & Agribusiness Industry Group, working with clients on compliance issues with state and federal agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. She is also a member of the firm’s Business and Trusts & Estates practice groups and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Service Team. She joined Barley Snyder in 2018.

“In a very short period of time, EmmaRose has earned a seat at the table in shaping the future of the hemp industry in Pennsylvania,” said Barley Snyder partner Timothy Dietrich, the chair of the firm’s Food & Agribusiness Industry Group. “She’s earned it by her mastery of the regulation of hemp and its future in the state.”

She is on the board of directors for Pennsylvania’s Americana Region, which directs tourism in the Berks County area, and she is also on the board of directors at Berks Community Television.
