Barley Snyder Brings in Two Summer Associates

Published on

June 11, 2021

For Immediate Release

Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder has announced it will again hold its summer associate program and has hired two law students to participate.

The firm has held the program for decades, and its leadership remained committed to conducting the full, in-person program in 2020 despite the difficult conditions of the pandemic. The firm said earlier this year the program would continue as business restrictions eased.

Throughout the program, the students will receive hands-on experience learning the day-to-day and long-term responsibilities of an attorney from a mix of lawyers working in different practice disciplines from across the firm.

“We consider the summer associate program vital not just for our firm, but also for the profession,” said Jeff Lobach, Barley Snyder’s managing partner. “Part of the program’s goal is to help develop tomorrow’s attorneys. Through the years of this program, we believe we’ve accomplished that.”

The two Barley Snyder summer associates for 2021 are:

Elizabeth Castillo of Lancaster will begin her third year at Temple University Beasley School of Law in the fall after graduating from George Washington University. This is her second year as a summer associate at Barley Snyder after being chosen for the program in 2020.

Tasha Stoltzfus Nankerville of Lititz will begin her third year of law school in the fall at the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. In 2020, she interned at the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.

“Our summer associate program has been instrumental in recruiting and retaining several generations of great legal talent,” said Alex Puskar, the chair of the firm’s summer associate program and a former Barley Snyder summer associate. “We want to make sure this generation of law students has the same opportunities many of us had when we were in law school, one of which is to get a first-hand look at what life is like as a full-time attorney in private practice.”
