Barley Snyder IS Among the Fastest-Growing Firms in PA

Published on

December 19, 2016

How is it that one of central Pennsylvania’s fastest-growing law firms could end up on a list of the fastest-shrinking law firms?

To tell you the truth, we’re still not sure.

But for certain, Barley Snyder is growing, and growing fast. Fast enough that PaLaw 2016, released last week as a supplement of Philadelphia-based The Legal Intelligencer’s annual report, has corrected its mistake and acknowledged the firm’s strong growth. The growth in lawyers by more than 16 percent in 2016 ranks Barley Snyder as one of the fastest-growing law firms in Pennsylvania by percentage of lawyers added.

Here is the correction The Legal Intelligencer has placed on its website, along with three other corrections the publication was forced to print:

“The “100 Largest Law Firms in Pennsylvania” listing in PaLaw magazine should have noted Barley Snyder as having 71 attorneys in Pennsylvania, representing a gain of 10 lawyers from the previous year and placing them at number 37 on the list. In addition, the firm should have been included among the “Fastest-Growing Firms” on page 63.”

A corrected version of the publication’s “Top 100 Law Firms in Pennsylvania by Size” is now listed, which includes corrected statistics for Barley Snyder’s lawyer count and its rightful place as the 37th-largest firm in Pennsylvania.

And while we’re at it, Barley Snyder currently has 75 lawyers, hiring four more since the summer deadline for submission to this issue. We’re also planning on hiring additional lawyers in 2017, with renovations to our Lancaster office currently underway to allow for additional office space.

So next year, when we have even more growth, you’ll probably see us higher on this list. And you definitely shouldn’t see us on any fastest-shrinking list, real or mistaken.
