For Immediate Release

Malvern, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that partner Joseph R. Falcon III has been named a membership board member of the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law.

The ultimate goal of the membership board is to advance section and association membership development objectives and commitments and engage in collaborative and one-on-one efforts to support and retain existing members and to encourage new members to join the ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law. The membership board is at the forefront of the section and its people serve as the section’s ambassadors.

The position represents Falcon’s second assignment with the ABA Section of Intellectual Property. In 2018, the group appointed him as the vice chair of patent legislation, a post where he helps oversee and assist the development of ABA policy on pending federal legislation relating to U.S. patent laws or affecting U.S. patent rights.

“In nearly a year of working closely with the ABA-IPL, I see how important it is to have a group of dedicated members working to speak for our colleagues,” Falcon said. “The leadership of this group needs to have as many voices from our niche category of attorneys heard as we can. This group is going to shape much of where IP law goes in the coming decades in the United States. Hearing as many educated opinions as we can is of vital importance, and that comes with a large, engaged membership base.”

Falcon is a member of the Barley Snyder Intellectual Property Practice Group and is based in the firm’s Malvern office. He also is a chair for the intellectual property law section at the Chester County Bar Association and is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Chester County.
