Reading, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank has elected Partner Timothy G. Dietrich to serve on its board of directors. Founded in 1983, the food bank serves communities in Berks and Schuylkill counties with a mission to feed the hungry. The organization is a member of Feeding America and has been deemed a Four-Star Charity.

Helping Harvest sources food through partnerships with Feeding America, government agencies, local retailers, food manufacturers and farms in addition to receiving local donations, according to its website. Food is delivered to its 51,000-square-foot warehouse facility where it is stored, packed and distributed to more than 320 programs, which in turn, feed more than 110,000 people in need each year.

“I proudly support Helping Harvest with its ethical food sourcing practices and ongoing mission to feed communities in need through charitable food programs in Berks and Schuylkill counties,” said Dietrich. “As families continue to struggle to put food on the table with the onslaught of high grocery prices, the presence of Helping Harvest remains an integral resource to aid those facing hunger. I look forward to furthering the mission of the organization.”

Dietrich is a member of the firm’s Business, Real Estate and Creditors’ Rights practice groups in addition to several other groups. He provides strategic advice for businesses, financial institutions and governments in a number of areas. Dietrich also leads Barley Snyder’s Food & Agribusiness Industry Group. He utilizes his knowledge of FDA, USDA and other regulatory requirements to assist clients in the food and agriculture areas with their transactional needs as well as compliance with the more rigorous requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act. Dietrich is a former managing partner of Barley Snyder.

Aside from his new role with Helping Harvest, Dietrich serves as the director of the National Food Lab, Inc., and is legal counsel for the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance and the Berks County Chamber Foundation. He formerly served on the board of directors of the United Way of Berks County, The Highlands at Wyomissing, Alvernia University and several other local organizations. Barley Snyder is a proud supporter of Helping Harvest and other community food banks located across our footprint.
