Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is proud to announce that Bethesda Mission of Harrisburg has named attorney Michael J. Crocenzi as its “Volunteer of the Year” for 2017.

Crocenzi, who joined Barley Snyder in July, has been a volunteer at the mission for 10 years and was on the organization’s board of directors from 2007 to 2010. He helps with pro bono legal advice for Bethesda Mission, mostly on employment matters and risk management. He also volunteers by helping serve meals at the mission.

Crocenzi is a member of the firm’s Employment Law and Litigation practice groups. He also works in workers’ compensation, employment litigation and labor law. In addition to his work with Bethesda Mission, he’s been a member of the Fairview Township Board of Supervisors in York County and is the president of the Red Land High School Football Boosters.

“Bethesda Mission has always been something that’s been close to my heart, and I strongly support its mission and values,” Crocenzi said. “The work the mission does in Harrisburg is so desperately needed to keep families together, to help the quality of life in the Capital Region and to share the good news and love of Jesus Christ. No one knows when they’ll need an organization like Bethesda Mission, but they’re glad it’s there when they do need it. I am very humbled to receive such a high honor from this wonderful, hard-working community organization.”

Bethesda Mission, which has numerous service locations in and around Harrisburg, is the missionary arm of the local church. It reaches out to men, women and children of all races, nationalities and creeds, providing the poor and homeless with shelter, food, clothing and sharing the mission of the Christian-based organization. The mission has been meeting the needs of hurting and homeless people in Harrisburg for more than 100 years, serving 129,000 meals and providing assistance to 3,000 different people in 2016.
