Josiah D. Lauver is a law clerk in Barley Snyder’s Gettysburg office, where he is a member of the firm’s Business and Real Estate practice groups.

Josiah developed a strong foundation in transactional matters during law school, gaining​ extensive experience drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and leases through a series of externships and clerkships across central Pennsylvania. He served as a summer associate at McQuaide Blasko with the medical malpractice defense group, where he drafted memoranda, briefs, motions and praecipes. He also held legal externships with the Pennsylvania Office of General Counsel – Department of Health, Mount Nittany Health, and Penn State Health, and clerked with Select Medical, where he drafted and reviewed contracts for medical services and lease renewal letters. These experiences provided valuable exposure to transactional and business-related legal matters and fueled his interest in real estate and business practice. 

Prior to law school, Josiah earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Georgetown University, where he also minored in Linguistics and Anthropology. At Georgetown, he was a four-year member and captain of the Division I swim team, contributing to the program’s first Big East Championship titles in 2022 and 2023.

Originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Josiah is passionate about serving central Pennsylvania’s business and real estate communities. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing golf, competing in triathlons, playing piano and guitar, and spending time with his family.
