Barley Snyder Managing Partner Jennifer Craighead Carey Appointed to Millersville University College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences’ Advisory Board

Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce Millersville University’s College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS) has appointed managing partner Jennifer Craighead Carey to serve as a member of its Advisory Board.

The Advisory Board of the College of AHSS advises the Dean on matters surrounding the College’s relations and partnerships with the community, industry partners, employers, alumni and potential supporters of the college, according to its website. As a member of the Board, Craighead Carey will facilitate community partnerships, publicly promote the College and Millersville University, provide feedback regarding strategy and fundraising objectives in addition to other responsibilities.

“It is an honor to have been chosen to serve my alma mater as a member of the AHSS Advisory Board,” said Craighead Carey. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members in pursuit of providing the highest quality programs for Millersville students.”

Craighead Carey is a 1990 honors program graduate of Millersville University where she received a BA in History. She has remained actively involved with her alma mater, previously serving as a member of the Millersville University Foundation Board. In 2023, Craighead Carey was honored as a Marvelous Marauder, an inaugural program recognizing alumni who have demonstrated dedication, professional achievement, excellence and a commitment to staying engaged with the institution after graduating. She also served as the commencement speaker at the university’s winter 2023 graduation ceremony.

“In her new role on the Advisory Board, Ms. Craighead Carey will contribute to shaping the future of the College by providing her insights and suggestions and by becoming an advocate for the College to external constituencies,” said Ieva Zake, Dean of the AHSS. “Furthermore, as an accomplished lawyer, she is an inspiring role model for our current students. I am delighted that Ms. Craighead Carey is interested in maintaining her connection to the College, its faculty and students by participating on the Board, and I am eagerly looking forward to working with her and being able to benefit from her wise advice.”

Craighead Carey is a member of Barley Snyder’s Employment Practice Group, concentrating her practice in the areas of management side labor and employment law. She has been part of the firm for nearly 30 years. She received her juris doctorate degree from Dickinson Law School. Committed to her community, Craighead Carey also serves as a board member for the Lancaster City Alliance in addition to other roles with local organizations.
