Maureen Kelly is an attorney in Barley Snyder’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, focusing her practice on trademark law. With more than 15 years of experience, she advises clients ranging from startups and emerging businesses to multinational corporations on protecting, managing and enforcing their intellectual property rights.
Maureen offers comprehensive trademark law services to help businesses create, acquire, protect and strengthen their brands. She helps clients develop and safeguard their intellectual property through trademark clearance, registration, portfolio management, licensing and enforcement strategies. Her practice includes managing domestic and international trademark portfolios, handling trademark prosecution matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, coordinating foreign trademark matters worldwide, representing clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and UDRPs (domain name disputes).
In addition, Maureen advises clients on copyright protection and registration, internet domain name disputes, online brand protection and customs enforcement matters. She has represented clients across a wide range of industries, including apparel, automotive, banking, construction, consumer products, financial services, health care, apparel, luxury goods and pharmaceuticals.
Before joining Barley Snyder, Maureen practiced intellectual property law with an Am Law 200 firm overseeing a trademark prosecution practice. She began her career in Europe handling European trademark prosecution matters. She is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and serves on the Technology Transformation Committee. She previously served on INTA’s Emerging Issues Committee. She is also a member of the International Art Materials Association and the Three Rivers Botanical and Nature Artists Society.
Maureen earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School and her B.A. in Philosophy and Russian Studies from The Colorado College. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and is fluent in Russian and proficient in Danish.
