For Immediate Release

Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder attorney Jayne Katherman has been named to the YWCA Junior Board of the YWCA Greater Harrisburg. She began her role on August 25.

The YWCA Junior Board consists of a dynamic group of young women ages 21 to 35 who are committed to raising awareness and funds in support of the mission and operations of the YWCA Greater Harrisburg, according to its website.

“I am thrilled for this opportunity to contribute to such an admirable organization,” said Katherman. “Being part of an all women-led board which serves to empower women and promote their equality is incredibly inspiring and rewarding, especially in the current political and societal climate.”

The primary focus of the Junior Board is fundraising for YWCA’s Camp Reily, an outdoor summer day camp for children dedicated to promoting teamwork, creativity, hands-on education and physical activity. The camp, located in Fishing Creek Valley about ten minutes from downtown Harrisburg, has a longstanding history in the community dating back to its inception in 1927.

Katherman is a member of Barley Snyder’s Real EstateBusiness and Municipal groups. She has experience working on planned community projects, representing developers and homeowner associations, and serving as a solicitor for municipalities. Outside the firm, Katherman volunteers for the Junior Achievement of South Central PA. She is also a member of the York County Bar Association’s Social Committee and Women in Law Committee.
