For Immediate Release

York, Pa. – Barley Snyder attorney Martin R. Siegel has joined iMentor Baltimore, a mentorship initiative designed to empower students from underserved communities to achieve their academic and professional goals. As a mentor, Siegel will play an important role in supporting a first-generation, low-income student in Baltimore City, helping him graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve his ambitions.

Launched in 2019, iMentor Baltimore partners with Baltimore City Public Schools to increase college graduation rates for first-generation students. The overall program, founded in 1999, connects more than 10,000 students across Baltimore, New York City and Chicago with mentors who provide weekly support. Through structured communication, mentors guide their mentees in setting both personal and professional goals, ensuring the students stay on track for success during the program’s two-year duration.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to mentor and guide the next generation of leaders,” said Siegel. “This program is a chance to make a tangible difference in students’ lives, helping them realize their full potential and achieve goals they might never have thought possible.”

Siegel’s involvement in the iMentor program underscores Barley Snyder’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and making a lasting impact in the lives of future leaders.

Siegel is member of the Barley Snyder’s Real Estate and Environment & Energy groups. Prior to joining the firm, he spent more than two decades as a litigator at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Additionally, Siegel is a trained mediator, a frequent speaker on environmental topics, and an author of numerous legal publications. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® in its 2024 and 2025 editions for his work in environmental law. Alongside his new mentorship role, Siegel serves as a board member for the Chesapeake Legal Alliance and is a member of the Pennsylvania Sewage Advisory Committee.
