For Immediate Release

Harrisburg, Pa. – The Dauphin County Bar Association has named Barley Snyder attorney John “J.” Quain Jr. the treasurer on the board of directors of its Young Lawyers Section.

The Young Lawyers Section started in 1976 to address the needs and interests of new lawyers in the Dauphin County Bar Association. It sponsors programming for young lawyers in substantive areas of law, encourages committee membership and holds several popular social functions each year to encourage networking, according to its website.

“The Young Lawyers Section is important to the long-term vitality and success of the bar association,” Quain said. “Giving young attorneys that early exposure to the bar association to see how it can help them in their careers is integral to the future of the bar association. I’m excited to help in showing young attorneys the benefits to becoming involved with the bar association.”

Quain is an attorney in the Barley Snyder Litigation and Finance & Creditors’ Rights practice groups. He has held leadership positions previously with the Dauphin County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section as the social committee chair and he also has previously been the chair of the association’s Young Lawyer Day Committee.

He also is the secretary of the board of directors of Harrisburg Historic Association. In 2021, the Central Penn Business Journal named Quain an “Up and Coming Lawyer” in its Legal Excellence Awards.
