For Immediate Release

Harrisburg, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce attorney John “J.” Quain Jr. has been named to the board of directors at the Historic Harrisburg Association.

The association is a nonprofit, charitable and educational organization that advocates for the restoration, preservation and proper stewardship of historic neighborhoods and landmarks throughout the Capital Region to enable current and future generations to retain and celebrate Harrisburg’s rich history, according to its website.

The group came together in 1973, sparked by the devastating effects of Hurricane Agnes throughout the region and the demolition of the city’s State Theatre.

“The Historic Harrisburg Association is an important piece of Harrisburg’s development puzzle,” Quain said. “As a native of the region, it is important to me personally to protect the area’s history not just for the sake of keeping it, but to enrich the quality of life for all that live here. Bridging the past to the future is what Historic Harrisburg is all about.”

Quain is an attorney in the Barley Snyder Litigation Practice Group. He came to the firm in 2018 from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development as a part of the Office of General Counsel within the governor’s office. In the spring, he served as 2019 chairman for the Dauphin County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Law Day Committee.
