Barley Snyder Attorneys Named to Arbitration Panel

Harrisburg, Pa. – The American Arbitration Association recently has named two Barley Snyder attorneys as panel member arbitrators in the organization.

Partner Joshua Schwartz and attorney Sarah Yerger are now part of the association’s group of select attorneys, including former federal and state judges, endorsed by the group to perform alternative dispute resolution tactics in cases both locally and across the country. The association holds its members to strict codes of ethics and model standards of conduct to ensure fairness and impartiality in conflict management.

Barley Snyder formed its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Service Team in early 2020 and the group’s members have been adding certifications ever since. Yerger and Schwartz are the third and fourth Barley attorneys named to the group in the last year. In 2020, the arbitration association admitted Judge Stephen P. Linebaugh, the chair of the Barley Snyder Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Service Team, as a panelist. Attorney Lindsey Cook became a member in January.

In November, the Dauphin County Board of Arbitration named Yerger an arbitrator for its organization as well. She also is a certified mediator for the U.S. Middle District of Pennsylvania. Advoz Mediation and Restorative Practices in Lancaster County also recently certified Schwartz as a mediator.

“The members of the team have gone out of their way to obtain these various certifications,” Linebaugh said. “They’ve put in a tremendous amount of work and effort to train and further educate themselves on the fine art of alternative dispute resolution. It’s a testament to their dedication and commitment to this group and the good it could do for their clients and other potential clients who are seeking skilled mediators and arbitrators.”
