Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is proud to share that the firm has been named to The Legal Intelligencer’s 2023 Watch List. The Legal Intelligencer is the oldest daily law journal published in the United States, keeping Pennsylvania’s legal professionals up to date on the latest industry developments with editorial coverage and news on court decisions, verdicts and practice issues.

The law journal’s first-ever annual Watch List recognizes small to midsize firms (up to 250 attorneys) in Pennsylvania. The editorial team selects firms that thrive in areas including new practice areas, diversity/inclusion, innovation, firm growth, notable verdicts, community outreach and more, according to its website. A sum of 21 law firms has been named to various Watch List categories. Barley Snyder is one of six law firms named to the Firm Growth/New Hires category based on the recent addition of eight attorneys, three paralegals and 15 staff members from Lebanon-based Reilly Wolfson law firm in April. The firm is the only Central Pennsylvania-based firm to be recognized on the Watch List among other Philadelphia-based and Pittsburgh-based firms.

“This recognition acknowledges the firm’s commitment to strategic growth by expanding in our existing footprint and by entering new markets,” said Managing Partner Jeff Lobach. “We are honored to be named to the inaugural edition of this Watch List by one of the leading media platforms in the legal industry. We thank the Intelligencer for this recognition of our success in expanding our reach.”

In January 2023, Barley Snyder was ranked as one of the fastest-growing law firms in Pennsylvania by The Legal Intelligencer after affiliating with the Wyomissing-based Leisawitz Heller law firm in January 2022. The transaction included the addition of 14 attorneys, 10 paralegals and eight staff members in the Reading market. In 2018, the firm opened its office in Harrisburg. It opened in Schuylkill Haven in 2019. Since 2014, the firm has also opened locations in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and in Hunt Valley and Columbia, Maryland.

The firm has also continued to grow by expanding current office space and bringing on new talent in an array of practice areas to further enhance the firm’s depth and services. In 2022, Barley Snyder was recognized as one of Central Penn Business Journal’s 120 Best Places to Work in PA and was the only law firm named to the list.

“We attribute our success and growth to the hard work of our team members. We have long believed an organization is nothing without its people,” said Lobach. “We look forward to continuing to expand over a larger geographical footprint and across a broader universe of clients in the coming years.”
