York, Pa. – Barley Snyder was a proud sponsor of the Women in Law Scholarship at the 2024 Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition. This is the third consecutive year the firm has sponsored the scholarship.
The Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition, held in York, Pa., is an annual contest for young women throughout the state to compete for scholarships and the chance to compete for the title of Miss America. The Miss PA Scholarship Foundation partners with local organizations and businesses to raise funds for these scholarships and has become one of the largest providers in the world of scholarship opportunities for young women.
This year, the Barley Snyder Women in Law Scholarship was awarded to Madelyn Whitcraft. The Lancaster native was named the first ever Miss Pretzel City 2024 in the Miss Berks County Annual Scholarship Competition held in February. Whitcraft is completing her undergraduate degree at Dickinson College with plans to attend law school. Her social impact initiative for the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition was “Order in Her Court: Empowering Young Women in Law.” In 2023, Haley Passione, Miss Iron City 2023, was awarded the Women in Law Scholarship.

This year’s competition was held at the historic Appell Center for the Performing Arts on June 13-15. Barley Snyder seeks to empower women and celebrate their achievements, and the firm is a proud supporter of local women organizations across our footprint.
