For Immediate Release
Lebanon, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that attorney Michael P. Votano has joined the firm as an associate in its Lebanon office.
Votano, a native of Lancaster County, joined the firm in September after earning his J.D. from Penn State Dickinson Law. During law school, he was a member of the Penn State Journal of Law and International Affairs and assisted Professor Shoba Wadhia with updates to Immigration Law and Procedure, a leading immigration law treatise. He also received CALI Awards in Civil Procedure, Secured Transactions, and Legal Writing and Analysis II.
“We are pleased to welcome Michael to Barley Snyder and to our Lebanon office,” said Mike Bechtold, partner based in the firm’s Lebanon office. “His strong research and writing skills, combined with his ties to the region and commitment to building his legal career here, make him a great addition to our firm. We look forward to supporting his growth as an attorney and seeing the contributions he will make for our clients.”
Before attending law school, Votano earned his B.A. in Political Science from Penn State University and served as a media specialist for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. In that role, he worked with elected officials on constituent communications and other public-facing communications. While an undergraduate, he also worked as a peer writing tutor and served as co-editor of The Dangling Modifier, a student publication.
“Having grown up in this area, I’m excited to begin my legal career at Barley Snyder and have the opportunity to serve clients in the communities I’ve called home,” said Votano. “The firm’s strong regional presence and collaborative culture make it an ideal place for me to learn, grow and build my practice, and I’m grateful to be part of the team.”
