Michael Votano combines a strong foundation in legal research and writing with experience in public affairs and strategic communications. He earned his J.D. from Penn State Dickinson Law, where he distinguished himself academically and received a CALI Award in Civil Procedure, Secured Transactions, and Legal Writing and Analysis II. During law school, he served as a member of the Penn State Journal of Law and International Affairs and assisted Professor Shoba Wadhia with updates to the Immigration Law and Procedure, a leading immigration law treatise.

A native of Lancaster County, Michael is pleased to begin his legal career serving clients in the community he has long called home. Prior to law school, he earned his B.A. in Political Science from Penn State University. While completing his undergraduate studies, he worked as a peer writing tutor and served as co-editor of The Dangling Modifier, a student publication. Following graduation, Michael joined the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a media specialist, where he worked closely with elected officials to develop constituent communication strategies and draft press releases, opinion pieces, social media content and other public-facing communications.

Outside the office, Michael enjoys playing sports, hiking, reading and writing about international issues. He lives near Mount Gretna, Pennsylvania, with his Newfoundland, Titan.
