For Immediate Release

Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is proud to announce that partner Jill Welch has been named to the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Dutch Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of the firm’s Employment Practice Group, Welch’s family is highly involved in scouting with Boy Scout Troop 99 in Lancaster. Her oldest son Jake Welch earned the rank of Eagle Scout in December, while her youngest son Luke Welch recently earned his Life ranking, the rank just below Eagle. Her husband Doug Welch is an assistant scout master.

The Pennsylvania Dutch Council is the Boy Scouts’ leadership group for troops in Lancaster and Lebanon counties. Welch said she is looking forward to being able to serve on the board, especially at a time like now when the Boy Scouts of America, the council, the troops and the packs offer many positive ways to engage future leaders.

“I’m particularly excited to join the board at a time when new leadership opportunities are opening up for girls in scouting,” Welch said.
