For Immediate Release

Harrisburg, Pa. – Barley Snyder attorney John “J.” Quain Jr. will serve as the 2019 chairman for the Dauphin County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Law Day Committee.

For the Dauphin County Bar Association, Law Day, recognized on May 1 but with events throughout the month, brings attorneys and judges to classrooms throughout the country to educate students on the law under the American Bar Association’s 2019 theme, “Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society.”

The Dauphin County Bar Association has established the goal of reaching classrooms in each of the county’s school districts during May to speak with students as part of the Law Day event. Quain will lead those organizational efforts through the bar association as head of the event’s committee. Last year, the Dauphin County group sent 37 volunteers into 67 classrooms throughout the county.

“These kinds of lessons can be what sparks an interest in a student to seek out the law profession in some capacity,” Quain said. “It also gives them the opportunity to be introduced to the principles of free speech and free press that we hold so dearly in the United States.”

Quain is part of the Barley Snyder Litigation Practice Group. He is a former lead litigator for the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
