Catherine is a seasoned attorney in the firm’s Business and Litigation practice groups as well as a member of the Food & Agribusiness Industry Group. She is widely regarded as a tenacious advocate for her clients, known for her ability to navigate complex challenges with a solutions-oriented focus. She brings to Barley Snyder a high level of attention to detail, creative problem-solving and strong legal writing skills.
Catherine helps clients navigate the complexities of crisis management, food and product contamination and recall, insurance coverage, and casualty litigation matters. She brings extensive experience in counseling clients through arbitration, mediation, and litigation matters. She has represented businesses and insurers in high-stakes litigation across the United States.
Catherine’s dedicated legal approach has earned her notable recognition, being named to the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 List in 2022. Demonstrating the strength of her advocacy, in 2021, she secured the dismissal of a $26 million food contamination claim in federal court, and the related appeal, in favor of her client.
Prior to joining Barley Snyder, Catherine practiced at an insurance coverage law firm in Montgomery County. Her experience representing insurers gives her valuable insight when advocating for clients on the business side. She is a graduate of Penn State University’s Schreyer Honors College and Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.
Outside of the office, Catherine is committed to community enrichment through her active participation in alumni networks and mentoring initiatives. She serves as an Alumni Mentor Volunteer for the Penn State Liberal Arts Alumni Mentor Program and as a Professional Mentor for Temple University Beasley School of Law Women’s Law Caucus. She is also a member of the Mount Saint Joseph Academy Alumni Association. In her free time, Catherine enjoys activities such as reading, knitting, traveling, yoga and hiking.
