For Immediate Release

Malvern, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that partner Kevin C. Myhre has been elected Vice Chair of the Patent Law Committee for the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). Board members and committee leaders appointed him for the role in September.

AIPLA is a national bar association that represents a variety of individuals from law firms, companies and institutions involved in patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition law and other fields of law affecting intellectual property. The association comprises approximately 7,000 members dedicated to the practice of intellectual property law, both domestically and across the globe. The Patent Law Committee provides information on recent developments in patent law, develops educational programming for members and policy leaders, identifies important issues relating to patent law and more. In his new role as Vice Chair, Myhre will set strategic goals and establish specific initiatives and tasks for the committee.

Myhre follows in the footsteps of Barley Snyder Partner and IP Practice Group Chair Salvatore Anastasi who has been heavily involved with the association for over a decade. Anastasi currently serves as the First Vice President of the AIPLA.

“Kevin is exceptionally well-suited for this important role within the AIPLA. His remarkable depth of knowledge in patent law promises to be a tremendous asset to the committee’s mission,” noted Anastasi. “I’ve had the privilege of working with this esteemed association for many years, and I’m confident that Kevin will find it to be an equally rewarding experience.”

Myhre is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. He is involved in patent application preparation and prosecution, trademark matters, drafting IP-related agreements, and litigation support across all areas of IP law, including research and strategy development.

“It is a tremendous privilege to assume the role of Vice Chair of the AIPLA’s Patent Law Committee,” said Myhre. “I look forward to helping set forth and execute the committee’s initiatives to protect and improve our patent laws while working along with so many dedicated IP professionals.”

Outside of the firm, Myhre serves as a board member for the West Chester Area Education Foundation and chairs the Chester County Bar Association’s IP Law Section. He has committed himself to improving the quality of life in suburban Philadelphia and the business world abroad through volunteering with local and international organizations including the Boy Scouts, his local economic development council and the AIPLA.
