York, Pa. – Barley Snyder is proud to announce that Ellen R. Stewart has joined the firm’s Litigation Practice Group in its York office. Stewart brings more than a decade of experience representing clients in complex civil litigation matters, including liability and insurance defense, construction defect claims, premises liability, and appellate advocacy.

Stewart has successfully resolved matters at all stages of litigation, including dispositive motion practice, mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeal. She has represented builders, developers, contractors, retailers, restaurants, and motor carriers in a wide range of liability and insurance defense matters and has significant courtroom experience, including independently trying jury trials throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Stewart earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from The University of Baltimore School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Political Science/Criminal Justice, summa cum laude, from The University of Akron. Prior to joining Barley Snyder, she practiced litigation at a Mid-Atlantic regional law firm, where she was based in Maryland.

Stewart is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
