For Immediate Release

Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that attorney Lindsey M. Cook has been named to the board of directors of the Coalition for Smart Growth, a nonprofit organization promoting responsible development in Lancaster County.

The all-volunteer organization strives for a “prosperous, vibrant community that achieves balanced growth and protects its unique heritage,” according to its website. The group works proactively to seek common ground between mixed-use, higher-density development and the preservation of agriculture and natural areas and promotes livable, walkable communities.

“As one of the fastest-growing counties in Pennsylvania, Lancaster County’s natural beauty and its agriculture industry need to balance with the pressures of development,” Cook said. “The coalition works with decision-makers and private industry to ensure development of our land is thoughtful and deliberate. I look forward to working with the group to promote smart development that allows the county to flourish while preserving Lancaster’s distinctive character.”

Cook, a Lancaster County native, is a member of the Barley Snyder Litigation Practice Group. In addition to her new position with the coalition, she is also a member of the advisory group of the Lancaster Chamber Young Professionals Network and serves on the United Way of Lancaster County’s Campaign Committee.
